C4 BOSE CD Player Problem
The inserted CD (only auto loads when cd is inserted and BOSE is then turned on) makes a static/popping noise while playing. To eject the cd, you have to depress and hold the eject button. Every thing else works with the system.
Options:
1. Buy a new stock unit.
2. Send the old one off to be repaired.
3. Buy new equipment and hopefully not every have that problem again.
I went with #3. Why spend good money on outdated equipment. I'd rather have modern technoligy than new old!
I have found a place "MK Enterprises" in Longwood, FL that will repair the unit for a flat fee. I may just pull the unit and send it to them.
Next question...... Where can I get info on removing the unit?

Any questions you have just reply to my post and I'll answer them as best as I can. I ripped mine out completely a month ago and installed an after-market setup. Good luck!
1: Open up the center console. Lift up the carpet on the front corners inside the console just enough to expose the two 7MM screws underneath. Remove these screws.
2: Remove the ashtrays/cupholders. Underneath you will see a 3rd 7MM screw. Remove this as well. The panel will now slide to the rear and expose the lower portion of the panel covering the radio.
3: Remove the vent above the radio. It has two philips head screws and will pull out after these are removed.
4; remove the 7MM screws on the panel surrounding the Deck. There will be some on the bottom and top. I think its 3. After all these are removed you will feel the panel is held still. These are clips behind the panel. carefully pull the panel so that the clips let go.
5: The screws securing the deck should now be visible. Remove these and the deck will be loose. Carefully remove the deck and unhook the wire harnesses and antenna wire behind it. I like to put black tape on the end of the harnesses after removal.
Reverse the procedure to put the dash back together.
This is the procedure for the 6speed trans. If you have an auto, there may be more screws so be careful. I like to keep the screws in a cup so they don't get lost. Also make a note of which screw goes where as they are of different lengths.
Good luck
