AVIC D2 questions
I'll be installing an AVIC D2 in my 98 soon. Is this HU powerful enough by itself to drive aftermarket speakers - front only, or does an additional amp have to be installed? I don't need to blow the roof off, just listen at a comfortable level that overcomes the engine and road noises.

It claims to put out 50w x 4 peak and 22w x 4 RMS. It should push a couple of small speakers just fine.

If you can.. Just install an amp...
There fairly cheap ($75-100 for what you will need), the sound quality will be better than the built in amp, it will keep the HU cooler, and aviod problems down the line...
