Default New speaker difficulty for my C4?

This winter i am thinking of upgrading the speakers on my LT1 C4. It doesn't have the bose system if that matters. I bought it and the previous owner put in an alpine unit but i don't know what kind. here is a picture(crappy though).

I am looking for 4 speakers that have great bass and everything else but don't cost the most. i don't even know what are good brands or what. i do know my other car i got infinity and they where $100 each and i didn't think they where very good but that might have been because of the HU.

And how hard is it to change the old ones with the new ones. steps? special tools? I had new ones put in my old firebird once and it cost too much for installation. so if i can't do it then it isn't getting done.

Well the infinitys are actually a decent speakers, and that alpine is a nic piece as well. I think you are looking for something that has the capability to get decently loud which really means you need an amp as well. Am i correct in that you wanna be able to get loud

Loud is good. Bass is also good. But i also like to hear what the music is saying somewhat so i need something that is all around good.

I think that with my last HU in my old car it just wasn't very powerful making the sound not very good. even if i had okay speakers.

But this alpine HU with the stock speakers is already better, i just think that with nicer speakers it can be excellent.

I just need to know what kind are good for my unit and how hard they are to put in.

Quality is not cheap.
Bass is not cheap.
Loud is not cheap.

If you just want to use the stock head unit, get some speakers in your budget range that have the highest RMS watt rating, and the lowest Hz (basically the frequency, the lower the Hz, the lower the bass the speaker can reproduce).

I have all high end stuff in mine, but I also paid a lot for it too.

If you take the top off a lot, and have the windows down all the time, you may want to at least pickup a small 2 channel amp and a good pair of 6x9's for the rear for LOUD. you CAN get good bass from 6x9's but don't expect to enjoy anything hard or deep unless you have a sub.
