Default C6 stereo is completed- no dialup

1 5channel Hifonics amp, 6 1/2" MB quart seperates for the front, 5 1/4" seperates for the rear, and a JL Audio Stealthbox for the bass. Factory headunit is kept using the Pac adapters. Ran stinger 4 gauge power wire and rca's, as well as new speaker wire to each speaker. All in all not a bad sounding setup for a coupe. I built the amp rack and cover for everyday use. I will have a fiberglassed and paint matched setup for car shows by next spring. The crossovers are mounted next to the amp under the cover. The install was completed by myself and a friend, took us about 7 hours to do everything. Ive got tear apart pictures of the doors and center console as well. If anyone has any questions on installs, I'll answer as needed.

dont know why the second pic keeps cutting off, I'll work on it later. And no comments on my lid not fitting 100% correct, I know you can see wire and wood thru the edges. I was rushed to get some pics up!

Default here is some of my previous handy work

the above install is relatively mild compared to what I am used to. Here was my last project.

HiFonics ZXI 8006. I believe 55x4 and 200x1 at a 4ohm load if I remember right. Go to maxxsonics.com (I think) and they have all the specs on the amp and the speakers I used, reference series MB Quart. Very happy with the amp, just the right amount of power for the small space of a coupe, and it lights up blue to match my car Seriously, I looked for a long time for a 5 channel amp that I felt could handle the job, and don't regret this one at all, and I've used a lot of amps in my time.

Very tasteful setup for a vette.....Simple and clean! I just can't swallow the $550 price that JL wants for a simple 10" sub box! How does it hit and sound for $550?

Very well done!

You may want to look into the thread I posted about bypassing the PAC module and just wire tapping for the RCA's. It makes a HUGE difference in the signal quality heading to the amp. I think Steve put a link to it in the FAQ.

I know opening the dash again is a pain, but it looks like you're pretty accustomed to doing stuff like that!

on the stealth box install, is it bolted down or is it a pressure fit? Thanks.

There is a stud that you can thread into the bottom the stealth box and drill a hole into the bottom of the cubby hole and thread a nut onto from the underside. They include the hardware and a rubber washer. They do this for insurance reasons only, I wouldn't expect many people will actually use it. It fits very snugly into the cubby. You have to slide it in at an angle and the lip of the deck lid seal ends up above the top of the box. You could turn the car upside down and it wouldn't fall out.

That amp rack is a different story though.

sounds really good for a single sub, but again, when you have a coupe hatchback, you get a lot of help acoutiscally in the bass department. I know the price is outrageous for the box I agree, but there is no viable alternative at this point other then making something myself, and I just had no desire to do it. So I sucked it up and spent the money, the sound in the car was just so bad I couldn't take it anymore. I did wheel my local JL guy down to $500 out the door, so it made me feel a bit better.

good price, where from? My whole system ran me $1000, obviously that sub had a big impact on the price, and labor for free doesn't hurt either . I'm a good shopper when it comes to audio, but couldn't find the box anywhere for a deal.

I have a close friend in the Biz and I get alot of stuff for a % over cost. I also bought a new TMA 360 amp (new venture for JL Audio). Should go in the shop in about a week and a half.

having a "friend" doesn't count then I've worked retail for all of my life in electronics, that is the first piece of equipment I ever had to buy at full pop or close to it.
