Default Roll call for Chicago audio gathering

I thought about digging up the "Still stickin' around" thread....but then I figured I would start a new one.

So as the title says....who is planning to be at the gathering THIS saturday, October 7? We will meet at Dave & Buster's in Addison starting around 4pm and go 'til whenever.

I will be there. Looking forward to seeing and meeting new people from this forum.

Current list of attendees:

Duramax Dave
Pentavolvo
-Jeff-
Wiz1500
DPG
KnewBlewKorvette

EG,

Once you get your car done, there will probably be enough interest to get guys to travel to Florida to see it. You have quite an amazing machine in the works.

Instead of coming all of the way to Florida, let me suggest a mid-way point.

Every May (Labour Day weekend), members of the Corvette Forum descend upon Bowling Green in Kentucky for 3 days of burnouts, loud music, way too much free beer and barbecue.

We also spend an appreciable amount of daylight hours tearing through the KY countryside and terrorising the locals

You guys are always welcome - details are in the National Section.

Here is an example of some of the mayhem we get up to...

Great to see the list growing... Jeff, no problem with showing around 5 pm. I plan to park a little ways down to help block off an area...so there should be spots in the middle to safely park your Vette.

I'm kinda keeping track here to make sure we grab enough parking spaces. We'll be making enough noise and looking good that everyone will want to park by us.

Dave...glad to see you'll stop by for awhile. It'll be fun and no pressure for anyone to feel they have to come on time or stay the entire time. We just want to get together....

Everyone...I'll be away from the computer tomorrow through most of Friday. Hope everyone has the directions. Whoever "thinks" they are there first, just try grabbing a corner of the parking lot and we'll start piling in.

I get to go to "training" in E. Peoria. Something about getting to operate 14 different Caterpillar machines digging dirt and such. I know I know...sounds like tough training. Plus I get to eat out for dinner and charge it to the company.

Hope KnewBlewKorvette sees this and lets us know he is coming.

Penta....have you heard from Mandos if he or anyone else from ED is going to show?

Hey Guys,
Just checking in. I've kind of been away from the computer as of late. I lost my Mother last week I also dumped my girlfriend not too long ago after 1.5 years of being together. So I'm off on vacation this week, I needed more time away from work to recoupe.

I have never even heard of Dave & Buster's before so I looked it up on the net. As I was doing so there was a Dave and Buster's comercial on the tube. Anyhow, it looks like it is for adults and pretty much adults only. Is this correct?? I wanted to bring my 12 year old daughter along. Also, is there a cheap, but nice, and with pool hotel near there? I'm not rich by any means :o

Jay

Jay,

Sorry to hear about the hardships this week. Totally understandable if you don't want to come with everything going on. But do know that we'd love to meet you and have fun.

As for D&B....it sounds like an adult place but trust me, kids have their fun too. Your daughter should like the place. The only rule I'm aware of is anyone under 21 must leave by 11pm. It doesn't matter if they are with a parent, guardian, or someone over 21. But don't let the "primarily adult oriented" statement on D&B's website scare you away. The video games there are pretty much fun for kids, adults, and adult kids.

I am not familiar with hotels in the area...hopefully -Jeff-, DPG, or Pentavolvo can help there. Guys...any suggestions for Jay?

Isn't there some movie being shot in the midwest that you could make it a business trip? And I'm sure there are people here that need golf lessons from Fej. So just start your drive out this way....you'll like it here.

But let us know how your Socal gathering goes. Maybe you should have the gathering at your house Scott and that way you could get something done on the car.
