Hey Guys, Will be removing my 91's Bose system completely and need some help with type of speaker that will fit the space down near the front sill. Looks like 5x7 or 6x9 would fit but, what about the depth? Any thoughts, suggestions? Thanks! Doug
Thanks for the reply, went to FAQ's before I posted but wasn't sure if the "fronts" were for the door or frame rail location. How deep the speaker is in the frame rail is still my question. Thanks,Doug

I'm still finishing my install, but I went with 5 1/4" components. I also added a 1/4" hardboard sheet to the top face of the factory mount to accomodate the new shape/size. This gave me a little more clearance behind the mount, but I think it would have fit without (but I don't think the mount would have been stiff enough). The Polk db 5250's are 2 1/4" deep. These two are centered in the "grill" openings of the sill cover.
Looking at how it installed, I think a 6 1/2" round would have fit OK if it was shifted down toward the floor in the mount.

Depends on depth of speaker. Some 6.75 will fit. Could probably find a 5.25 that is too deep if you try hard.
