Default Remote Start Problems Viper 560

I had my friends shop install a viper 560 remote start in my Z06. The problem is the car wont crank at all with the remote. If its running you can remote start it and take out the key. They know there is a wire wrong but dont which one, its hooked up the way DEI said to do it. They couldnt get ahold of the tech rep who was familar with vettes. The installer who has done a bunch of these no longer works there, he just did the start part. The alarm is installed really clean and everything else works, remote trunk, remote gas door and so on. Any idea's?

Assuming that your car is a newer model.....i put in 2004 here is the wiring direct from DEI who makes Viper. I work at a stereo shop and this is what we use to install alarms. If your car is a stick then you will have to have the vehicle in Neutral for it to start. When you engage the remote start from the keypad does the fuel pump prime?

I think we found it, gonna mess with it next week. Its something with vats, because whenyou rmoete start it with the key in it runs till you pull the key out.

Yes I park in N usually but I have several differnt safty's built into where it only starts when the car is in N. The car will not start in any gear.

with your car there is a module that the shop that put in your alarm should have wired in tadem with the remote start relay module. This module houses an extra key and that key is used to bypass the vats so that the car sees the vats at all times and will start right up. Take it back to your shop. if they are reputable they should warranty their work. Or at least tell you how to get it to start

I have that already. I think the box I have uses a resistor in place of a key. They just have a wire hooked up wrong on the box. I had to install that box on my civic with the extra civic.
Its my friends shop so i know it will get fixed, I was just trying to help him out.
