Default Request - PLEASE mention year/generation in posts!

Not trying to be a PITA here, but there are alot of posts where people state their question or problem but they never mention which generation or year their car is! I know that the bulk of the conversation here is still C5-related, but there's quite a bit of C4 & C6 talk as well and even a C3 from time-to-time. It would make life alot easier (and you'd likely get better responses) if you mention either what year or which gen car you have when you start your thread.

I think Generation specific in the title is great.. Year would be fine int he title OR the post itself..

I posted just this suggested a year ago, and got NO REPLIES.

All I asked for was a simple [Cx] at the front of your post...

If nothing else, it would make searching that much easier.

But I don't even care about something that procedural.. just let people know what the heck car you're asking about to get something done.

See, it's all who you know... and apparently Scott knows ERNDIT!

The mod would have to know something about Car Audio in Corvettes so we don't have them interrupting us when we get off on a tangent that is totally harmless, but needed, in order to keep things clear for all of us...

I agree, whomever became the audio mod had better know us and the stuff he/she is moderating. At the same time, I would not want it to be a vendor, that just smacks of conflict of interest... and that has been a mod/sysop problem since before the internet was invented.

We regularly violate a ton of forum rules (hi-jacking being the biggie, and freeposting is pretty rampent). The last thing we don't need is some rules-centric, **** retentive mod. ERND-IT has been a big help, but if we had one of our own in this position, we wouldn't have to bug her for these little things... And, as pentavolvo said, we could modify titles to better reflect generation specific questions.

I volunteered in the past, and it has fallen on deaf ears. For some reason, I doubt it will ever be me...

In many ways, this area doesn't need a mod... we do a pretty good job of scaring off the trolls as it is, and when they don't go away, well, we call in the hired gun to take care of our light work. Am I right? Let's hear an "Amen Brother!"

Essentially, I vote for anyone of us regulars... be it pentavolvo, Audio Dave, myself, Scott, JeffVette, EG or fej (I would suggest eatrice, but gee... ) - I am sure I have missed someone, but I can't think of anymore.

I'm with Bogus ... an "inside" mod with limited powers would certainly help us out as well as the normal mods who have a ton of posts to try and check out.

Bogus, Scott, EG (vendor now though), Eatrice if he is around again, Knew, Dura, Penta .. hmm tons of people could handle this I would think.

I agree on the vendor thing... it would be hard to justify the conflict of interest. Thanks for the vote Bogus, but I am not sure I will be voted in by the CF mods... I have my own site and forums as well, so that may also be a conflict of interest.
I do think we do a pretty good job of "policing" our areas, but we would do good to have a mod that will put up with our rantings, and help us and the new members to the forums get all they need out of this audio section. New stickies, categories perhaps, I dunno... but a way to keep us all better informed would be good...

I would have to recuse myself from this one, as I am a Supporting Tuner now (as pointed out).

I would suggest Scott, if you want my 2 cents. Knowledgeable, impartial, mostly unbiased and always around
