C5, Where to put the tweets? HU ?

I took everyones advice and bought component speakers for the c5 doors. Where would you recomend installing the tweets for optimal sound? I also need advice on a head unit. I want a quality but inexpensive HU that is HD ready, built in ipod interface (cable only), and 3 pre outs. I was looking at the Alpine 9856, Any ideas of best bang for the buck? Thanks

I put mine in my door pulls. They are adjustable RF supertweeters so I could get good imaging.

I like mine in the A-pillars, raises the soundstage. 9856 is pretty darn good for the money.

There is a JVC unit on Crutchfield for $175 that has a built in HD tuner. By comparison, the Alpine outboard HD tuner is a $200 ADD-ON.

$50 for the JVC ipod adapter.

I know a lot of people have great luck with JVC, but I haven't personally heard the sound.

A-pillars
This gives a very high sound stage for sure.....It sounds like the music is being played out on my hood.....

I just put mine in my door locations, above the mids. They're adjustable in their mounting cups, so I just angled them toward me.

They're plenty articulate for me...as I listen to rock music mostly and don't need the ultra-high, shooting right into my ears, my tweeters are capable of.
