I dont see why you couldn't use a brace on the speaker. On the other hand if the box is built right you shouldn't need one even with the w7 at an angle. Though the shape of the box was made of fiberglass it should still be reinforced with mdf. Even just a skeleton frame of 3/4 mdf inside the box and attached to the ring should be fine. Good luck with the install.
