Default Sirius install location?

In the c5 audio section, it says you can install it under the rear bumper skin. My installer says that the metallic paint I have wil disrupt the signal. He suggest that I install it on the very front of the dash nearest the windshield. Anyone heard of the paint thing? What have you guys done? I'd like to keep it as stock looking as possible. Thanks for the help!!!

If I have mine my rear bumper sitting on the frame rail. I was thinking about mounting it on the metal under the dash.

Install everything but the antenna. Then pull a tail light and stick the antenna under the bumper. If it works you are good to go. If not you will need another location. I think it will work fine there. They work best if you put it on top of metal....like the rear bumber under the bumper cover.

He is smoking some serious ^%!^&#$. I had mine installed in the rear bumper on my c5 and put the unit in the ashtray. Occasional drops, but you will get those no matter where you put the antenna.
