Default Raleigh NC area

Location: Raleigh NC metropolitan area
Shop Name: Radio-Active Car Audio
Manager: Ash
Address: 320 McCormick St., Garner, NC
Phone: 919-779-8755

One bay, one installer. Meticulous work and care of car. Sides wrapped with film anywhere they might lean against it. Steering wheel and seats covered to protect from dust, scratches, or stains. Will take whatever amount of time is necessary to dial in the sound quality to match customer's preferences. I sat in the car and had the installer customize the audio exactly to my ears.

Recommended products: Audison (Italian company) Prima line (high quality components). Read my thread for detailed description of installation on my C7 coupe: https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...mendation.html

Looking to do a DD conversion in my 1998 stock Corvette. Would like a shop that has previously done Corvettes near the Philadelphia, PA area...

TIA

Go to Costco and buy one of those wireless color back up cams that you have the option of hooking into your reverse gear when you back up. It works at night too. That is the one I have.
I didn't hook mine into the reverse gear because I want to keep everything independent in case if something should go wrong it's that much easier to get rid of it or having other problems.
Now they have one with both front and rear camera for $159 if you would be interested in that. That unit wasn't out when I bought this rearview back up cam.

It's interesting... this thread hasn't been updated much in the last few years, but after scanning a number of the install shops, quite a few are still in business. That has to be a good sign... links that are 10+ years old are still valid. In this biz, companies don't survive screwing over customers.

I revisited this thread, looking for a shop to install hardware in my C6 - a bad knee is killing my flexibility! And I found a couple worth looking into who are still around. And one I was specifically looking for. I call this a win.

I checked with 2 local shops and prices come out to $2,000+ with a Kenwood Multi-media system 2 cameras installed for parking front and back and no new aftermarket speakers. If I am not satisfied with sound then add more $$$ for additional speakers.
Car is 15 years young so I didn't go through with it yet.

Fantastic work in the SF Bay Area. The shop has little web presence and looks sketchy. But I've had them do work for me on multiple occasions. Top-notch work with fair prices.

Awesome install on my Kenwood 5120. They bypassed so that dvd's and my nav could be used while in motion and did so on their own. Install looks awsome and they did a great job hiding the Sirius antennea. They put it behind a taillight and you cant even see it. Will never go anywhere else to get anything installed. Great place with a graet price!!!!
I have a 1966 Coupe and most shops would not
install a new radio and speakers. Audio Excellence
took the job. They did a fine job. I would recmmend
them to anyone looking for a perfect installation.

Default Northern Illinois Installer

  • Name of Shop - Abt Electronics
  • Address - 1200 N Milwaukee Ave, Glenview, IL 60025
  • Phone Number - 847-544-2539
  • Web URL- https://www.abt.com/
  • Name of Installer/Manager- Aaron Jones
  • Specialty - Electronics and Appliances
Discussion with Aaron was very insightful on what would be needed as they have done multiple generations of Corvette installations. All items were in stock and friendly service. More to follow once the installation is completed to review the craftsmanship of the actual work.
