I am getting a JL sub and Focal speakers. Was originally going to put 2 JL amps but then I came across the ALPINE PDX 4.150. Can this amp really power the 2 front door speakers and the JLW3 sub?? I have heard amazing things about this amp. I would like for the amp to match the sub but this alpine seems bad a$$ and it would save money.
Would you mount the amp behind the seat and would this puncture the leather?
I thought I found Focal 165V1 in 5'' 1/4 but I cant seem to find them now only in a 6''? Was I dreaming or what?
Sorry, one more thing. I am wanting to somewhat hide the amp, thats why it would be behind the seats? Are there any more places? If not and I did get the ALPINE PDX then I would mount it in the little cubby hole in the rear left hand corner.
That amp is a class d amp which is very good for subs, but i read a review somewhere which mentioned that amp had a low damping factor which slightly effects its sq with componets. Great looking amps though.

I am pushing MB Quart components with it in the SS. In my opinion, it sounds better than my Vette with Focals. Sound quality is obviously subjective though.
I've heard that same amp in a ford truck powering JL ZR components and a JL Audio 10w3 sub. It did very well. It definately gave enough power to the sub and the speakers sounded great.
In So. Calif., a local high end shop did an extensive audio install with the two Alpine PDX amps in the rear cubbys. The shop was raving about the performance of the amps with system.

Hey Keith,
Which local shop if you don't mind sharing? Thanks!
