radar detector legaility
I've done a search to ascertain that the purchase of the Escort 8500 x50 will detect both radar and laser guns and also that it's legal in Illinois? Can someone confirm this for me please? I did read where jammers are not legal but didn't see anything where that would apply to redar detectors.

The use of a radar detector in a passenger vehicle is legal in all states with the exception of Virginia, Washington DC. and while on military bases.
In Canada, the only three provinces that allow their use are Alberta, British Columbia and Saskatchewan.
