Nav Hardwire Question
i modified my cup holder to mount my tomtom to get it off the windsheild. i also modded the ashtray opening and installed an amp vol. control in there. i want to run a perm. charger cord for the tomtom through the ashtray area. i cant find anywhere that even knows it they make a hardwire kit for one. the guy at the local best buy said i should take the cord that came with it apart and see if i can loose the cig. lighter plug and try to haredwire it that way, but its glued pretty good and i will destroy it taking it apart. is the charger inside the tomtom unit or in the male end of the cord that goes into cig. lighter?

Most likely the charger is probally in the plug itself, I wouldnt crack it open. Just go to napa or autozone whatever and buy a female cigarette piece it will have wires on the side and just hardwire the cigarette jack and then plug the entire plug into it there should be room in the back of the dash to stash it all. http://www.partsexpress.com/pe/showd...number=265-570 something like this
