HOT RCA cables?
This is really weird. I'm pulling parts out of my 92x stereo, so I can start on the c5 next week...
Well about 5 months ago, one set of Stinger RCAs went bad in the 92x. RAther than tear carpet out and replace, i just ran new wire through the center console and left the bad ones hooked up to nothing.
Well, since its all coming out today, I took the carpet out and found that the STinger RCAs had melted through the factory damping material (A kind of rubberized feeling stuff) and were hard to remove. They also were stuck to the factory carpet padding material.
I also had 8 gauge power, 16 gauge speaker wire, running near it, but none of them melted in.
Anyone seen anything like this before?
Fwiw, the rcas appear to be in perfect condition, no cuts or exposed wire anywhere.

You didn't by any chance let Gozar drive that car after recently eating his chili?
That…or Voodoo magic.
