, so I should not have any problems fitting a player that is 178x100x160mm. Did you have to modify anything for it to fit? If so, how much?

Thanks

Edit: I'm waiting on this one to be released.

you'll probably have to cut out the plastic backing behind the radio like i did. it isn't too big of a deal to do. Took only a couple minutes with a rotozip. cutting it give plenty of room for wires and the cooling fan.

I've never actually looked behind the radio in the Vette before. In a few other installs I have done, I added extra cooling fans behind the radio. Does it look like there would be a need for that. I'd imagine it can get pretty hot in there at times. I don't think I'll have any issues installing as long as the fit is somewhat close. I bought an extra front console radio bezzel just for this install. I'm also going to paint it with something more durable and try to match the original look the best I can.

Thanks for the info and pictures.

every radio i've seen similar to mine has one built in and need some clearance behind it. the radio may fit with out modding anything but the fan will be pressed up against the back if you dont cut it out.

I see that you live in Levittown and just by chance, I'll be in Levittown in two weeks visiting my brother. Do you think you may be able to give me a personal showing? You did a great job and I'd like, if possible, to see it up close.

Excellent job-I use a tomtom because I use it for different cars but your install looks like a factory option. You should do this work as a second profession
BTW I also have a black 95 vert

INCREDIBLE! That is exactly what I want to do in my '96. If you don't mind, I may send you a couple PMs down the road when I get around to this project to ask for your assistance (advice, actually). I've never done car audio before, but if the system is going to set me back $2k, I'm going to try like hell to install it myself before paying someone else to do so!

How was the rest of the install (i.e., all the stuff other than the HU)? It's my understanding that when doing stereo upgrades to a C4, you basically have to do a complete tear-out of the old stuff, right down to the wires, and start fresh.

Sounds scary....

Would you have a few shots on the iPod interface?

My greatest fear is buying a double DIN unit and getting a crap interface!
