Here's a question for all the audio experts. Is there ANY way to somehow interface the stock head unit (and all of its functions) to a PC and subsequently control the HU from the PC?
Even if there is no direct way to do it, is there some kind of workaround through maybe another component or piece of hardware to somehow control the stock HU via a PC?
PS This is all part of my ssllooww journey towards a CarPC.
Well, if I could control the stock HU from the PC, I could have the functions of the HU without it having to be visible. In other words, I could move up to putting perhaps an 8" screen instead of 7". I would also not lose radio tuner functionality. I would have the stock HU somewhere in the vehicle but not nec. having to be out.
If there is some type of hardware interface that anyone knows of, let me know.
there isn't. you'd need two way communications for that to happen. why don't you just use the "hqtc" am/fm tuner hardware that they developed for car computers? http://store.mp3car.com/SearchResult...x=0&Search.y=0
