Default Question on c6 audio change

I have an 06 with Bose. I want to change speakers and install amps. Does this work Ok with the stock head unit (non nav). I'm thinking JL sub with amp, however I'm wondering what is a good choice for the rest of the speakers and which amps to use. I really don't want to have to cut up the car to install.
Thanks

Well HECK YES... edited for family content of course.

For $4000... do the head too, you will not get the most out of your amp & speakers with the stock head. You certainly CAN replace the rest and keep the stock head but aftermarket stuff sounds so much better. That is assuming you're talking about a DIY install, if you're going to pay for install then you may have to scale back a bit.

Check out the link in my sig below for my vert install. If I had to do it again (and of course I WILL) I wouldn't put the amp in the stowage compartment, not worth the aggravation. Glue a board under the carpet behind the seats in the trunk/storage area and mount the amp to that.

For that kind of money, for speakers check into Focal Utopias, Dynaudio, DLS. Amps I dont know as well but Zapco & A/D/S are names I have heard excellent things about.

As far as configuration goes, 3 ways in the doors, maybe a far less expensive set of coaxials of the same brand in the rear for fill and a sub in the back.

There's a starting point for the conversation, now tell us the kinds of music you like to listen to in the car.

I had a system installed with the stock HU for less than that including dynamat sound deadening, JL stealthbox sub, 2 JL amps (250.1 for the sub and 300.2 for the doors), dynaudio mod. 240mkii components in the doors, and a hardwired IPOD connection in the center console. Don't forget to do the sound deadening in the doors and rear of the coupe. It makes a huge difference. Custom Car Stereos in Houston TX did the install. It sounds 1000% better than the stock bose.

The only reason I kept the stock HU is that I have the NAV system with the HUD interface and couldn't figure out any other way to keep it. Can PM pics if you like but it is a very clean low profile install.
