Digi Cap?

Hi all. I noticed that when I hooked up my Monster 1 Farad Digi Cap, its reading 25.5, which is double what it used to read. I know it used to read volts, approx 14.7, so why is it double now? Any help?

gee... that's a tough one. Have you put a DVM on it to confirm the reading? I would be sure the wiring is right, or, you might have to discharge the cap so it can reset itself.

The cap was sitting for 3 years almost. I know I'm not getting 25.5 volts back there as everything would have been fried and it won't work if its backwards.

Whats the best way to discharge it safely?

a trick an installer friend used was a test light... and just waited for the light to dim down.
