I pulled up the carpet and attached 1/2" MDF via liquid nails, then before I screwed down the sub I secured the box with some 3" screws.(carpet is thick) in a lug pattern.

I am actually about to swap out the 12" infinity Kappa Perfect DVQ (the new one with the pole pieces) for a Kicker 12" L5 Solo-Baric. Don't get me wrong the infinity is an awesome sub but my box actually measured out to 1.49cu. ft of volume and that=infinite baffle for the infinity sub, and not to mention the fact that the amp I bought for it is too big. I didn't know too much about impedance when I purchased them. The kappa sub is dual 4 ohm, but you have to step it down to 2 ohm because the amp I have is a Infinity REF611A 456RMS@4ohms and 657RMS@2ohms so each voice coil of the kappa sub is designed to handle 200RMS because it is a 400RMS sub so I would be basically driving 328.5RMS per voice to it. That would pretty much over power it and cause it to clip or bottom out, over time = not good. So I am cutting my loses and going to sell the kappa sub. If anyone wants to buy it let me know, I will make them a good deal.

So how much space does a solobaric leave between the magnet and the box? The reason I ask is I would also like a l5 or l7.

About 2" the infinity kappa perfect is 7" top mount depth it had 1 3/4" room, and the L5 solo baric is about 6" top mount depth. Be careful with the L7 the lip is wider and longer than the L5 when the top stows the bottom of the top might hit this, not the laminate part but the grey part. The L5 is only 12 9/16" overall cutout is 11x11
