Helps with deadening a little bit, but mainly a heat barrier and noise reducer. Helps with making panels in the interior fit a bit better as well to reduce rattles etc.
i used frost king type before, and it got rid of a lot of sqeeks and stuff of that nature, but it wasnt really much quieter. it cut down on some heat. but not much for road noise at all. im using it as a heat barrier right now just in the front cockpit.
Hard to say bro, I did my entire deadening package in one large step, so as a whole I have to say 3-5db from normal noise levels. Individually for the cowboy stuff I would say it made a larger impact on heat and panel fitment/rattle reduction than as a noise reducer. I might give it 1-2db's tops for the entire kit, with that being mostly a reduction in exhaust/tire noise in the rear wheel well areas and back wall.
That being said remember if a 100w stereo plays at 93db, it takes 200 watts to make the same stereo play at 96db. So 3db's is a noticeable improvement.
i'm going to go ahead an do frost king on the tunnel and floors, saving the dynamat xtreme and damplifier pro for the cargo area, doors and the area behind the seats.
Wow 12db seems like a lot to me, I can't see it being that much, I could be being a little bit conservative, but not 25% of actual. I could see it being 6-7 maybe (for my work, but less than 10db for sure) ... guess I should have put a mic to it /shrug

I am planning on buying the cowboy kit too. What I'm really trying to accomplish is to reduce heat and quiet the cabin down so that the A/C doesn't go full blast all the time and so I can have a reasonably normal conversation with the passenger without yelling. I've also bought a ceramic coated tunnel plate from Elite Engineering to further reduce heat around the console area. I realize the F1 runflats are a BIG source of noise and those are going too in favor of GS-D3's. I'm NOT looking for acoustic perfection. Just a system that sounds better than average and a fairly quiet interior. Do you think I'll be able to accomplish this with these mods? Thanks!
getting rid of the tires will be a huge improvement. The cowboy kit along with the tunnel plate should be pretty good for you. it will help block heat and the non runflats should reduce a lot of noise.
