Anyone know if this will work?
Can it be done? I'm sure it can. But you need to ask yourself why. Admitted the HUD integration is fairly cool but compared to what you can get from the available options in aftermarket units it ain't enough to go with factory.
I have an '06 with factory NAV and it works well enough and I will admit freely that I got it vs aftermarket solely because of the HUD integration. But after living with it for nearly a year if I had to do it over again I would go aftermarket. They look better, they sound better and they offer options like Sirus OR XM, Bluetooth, DVD playback, iPod integration that you can't get with that factory NAV. And I am about to buy an '07 Avalanche and will NOT get the factory NAV so that I can put in aftermarket, so I've learned my own lesson.
Now that I have beat the drum, back to your original question. From what I have gathered from theads having a Bose system means that you have the proper extra harness that will feed the NAV system VSS, etc. I do NOT know if that has the HUD stuff in it, but I wouldn't be surprised as they're not likely to use separate harnesses for each possibility, too expensive to do that. You WOULD need to add a GPS antenna to the car as I know that is not installed unless you get NAV from the factory. You also will need to have the radio married to your VIN as it will report LOCKED when you turn it on. That will have to be done by a dealer or somebody with Tech II programmer.
