Default Basic audio question....

I have just bought a CD/ AM-FM to put in my boat. It's made for marine use, but here's my question....
It's designed for 4 speakers, but I only want to use the two existing ones in the boat, and NOT add 2 more.
If I just ignore the rear speaker wires, and run the set with full front fade, will it harm the unit?

Or, alternately, can I connect both front and rear "plus" wires together, then the front and rear "negative" wires together, and connect them up to just one pair of speakers? Would that harm the unit?

I know you're gonna say just go ahead and get two more speakers, but it's only a small pontoon and I don't really want to bother. Anyhow, I only got two ears.

My concern is how to avoid harming the unit with only two speakers. Thanks!

don't combine the speaker chans. just run the two speakers off the deck and leave the rear leads disconnected and you'll be fine
