It is a single coil, and I believe its 4 ohm though not positive, wife stole the vette to go to work today. Looking on ebay though it appears all the p2's that look like mine w/ the single coil are 4 ohm.
Thanks for the suggestion, what makes this one stand out to you?
I'll probably show my inexperience here, but I have a wiring question. I understand the power, ground, rca inputs, speaker outputs, but what is the small wire w/ a spade connection that connects to the amp(REM or something)? I'm guessing some type of power switch as the power lead is straight to the battery, but I'd like to know for sure.
Thanks
Penta volvo- It's obvious you've got experience in this area so:
I was looking at a new fosgate 450.4 amp, I know it's more than I previuosly posted I wanted to spend, but my thought is eventually replacing the front bose speakers and then I'd already have the amp to power those. For about $320, would this be a good way to drive the fronts then bridge the rear for the single sub?
Any recommendations for front speakers w/ a set-up/budget like this?
Not finding many reviews of this amp, I'd appreciate your opinion.
Thanks
320 is way overpriced for that amp crutchfield has it for 240. Crutchfield has the infinity on sale http://www.crutchfield.com/S-isqVxLF...1a&i=108R7541A this is roughly dbl the power of the fosgate and would drive some speakers up front and your sub with some real authority, at this price nothing is really gonna touch the infinity amp. Its a solid 4 channl Ive installed 5 or so of them and never a problem. For some components for upfront my favorite component set is the EDI6000s V2 http://www.edesignaudio.com/edv2/pro...products_id=49 for the dollar its probally the best component set on the market currently. Ive put these in 2 cars so far and love them, a forum member just used them as well and can possiably chime in. Other sets I like are polk db6500 which go for about 130-140 on ebay. CDT CL-61s are nice as well. I find the infinitys and alpines to be to bright for me the tweeter isnt as smooth as i like.
As far as fosgate a few guys on here use them, i personally think there new stuff is absolute garbage I would never run it in my own car, and I know some will take offense to this but its my own opinion. Other solid amps to check out are http://sonicelectronix.com/item_7421.html this is the same amp as the infinity its same internals same mother company, the infinity appears to be hard to find currently. Also http://sonicelectronix.com/item_7474.html a great amp. I use sonicelectronix alot and they have been great, i even had to return something my fault and it was no problem

Well, I'm glad I asked! For $15 more than I said I'd spend on the amp, I can get both the amp and front components. Do I even attempt to do this install myself, or pay the pros? The amp should be easy, as all the wiring is there already minus the second set of rcas for the front channel. What am I getting myself into in installing/wiring the components in the door? Or should the question be - what's a fair price to pay to have someone with experience do this for me?
