Yes-- had for years and like the convenience/lack of cord-- always throw it in my suitcase for travel. The corded 8500 in my daily driver has more features-- might have longer range too-- I will be taking a good look at Escorts new 9500 model.
I'd guess that will foster an upgrade to the Solo as well.

I used one for about a year. Upgraded to a V1 that I wired into the mirror in my 05.
I consider it an upgrade, as I now don't have to remember to turn the darn thing on every time I get into the car!!

Love the Escort products. Had the cordless for awhile, but went back to the cord so I wouldn't have to worry about batteries, etc. I have never felt the need to upgrade to the V1...seems big and clunky vs. the Escort....just my .02

It's the best cordless, but has way less range than most corded detectors.

Look at the latest V1, it's been slimmed down. If you're going to have a detector it makes no sense not having the best one, I currently have three.

I have one, I place it on the dash when I do highway driving.
I beleive it picks up radar good, probably not the best, but good.

Been using the Solo since 2002. Never had any problems. I use the Vettemod visor mount on the driver side. Solo has been out for so time now, with no change. They just introduced the 9500. So there could be some changes on the horizon for the Solo. IMO

I have the SOLO S2 and love it. Batteries last about 3 months with daily use. It was either the S2 or the 8500 X50 but I decided against the cord. Really convenient to take it down or take it with you to another car.

Have a Solo II, picks up Ka-band radar about a mile away on a flat, straight road. I don't need (or want) anymore sensitivity than that. Much better than the Solo I.

Oh, yeah, compared to the Solo I, the batteries last a really long time too... about 6 weeks to 2 months on average. The Solo I batteries I had to replace every couple of weeks (I still use it in my truck)

The only negative... the blinking amber LED that tells you the detector is powered on is really hard to see in the daytime. It blinks very slowly, so you have to look take your eyes off the road for what feels like an extended amount of time to make sure it's on. But that's just nitpicking, it's a great radar detector.

Less range and changing batteries all the time to be sure it's working I'm not a fan of cordless. That said if thats what you want the solo is the best. I would go with the V1, Bell X65 or (STI Driver if illegal in your state), or 8500 X50. If you can wait the 9500 might be the best with the GPS in it.

Ditto. I bought mine about 18 months ago and it works pretty well. Not as much distance as the corded, but it provides enough warning. I've been reading about the 9500, looks like it's time to upgrade.

It does a great job of telling you when to pull over and accept your ticket. I went from the solo to a V1 - no comparison.
