I have an 84 with a lot of interior noise. I was thinking of putting down a coat of eDead v3 Liquid BLACK Sound Deadening followed by eDead v1SE² adhesive padding with maybe another coat of eDead v3 Liquid BLACK Sound Deadening on top. My question is has anyone used these products and is my intended use of the the correct way?
You'll certainly kill resonance, but you won't eliminate road noise that way.
I would buy some liquid damper, and put it in the panels that go "pong" and vibrate when you tap on them. don't worry about hte firm panels.
I don't remember there being all that many bad places in a c4, so you won't need much. I'd say over the wheel wells, rear floor area, back wall, and behind the seats.
After that, what you want is a closed cell foam solution. edead v4 is 1/4" thick foam solution, or Raamaaudio sells a 1/8" thick foam, which can be layered double cheaper than one single layer of V4.
My order of eDead v3 and the v4 foam just shipped out today. I'll report back how well it works next weekend when I install it. Don't forget you can get 20% off if you order through this link: http://www.edesignaudio.com/edv2/index.php?cPath=90
It seems a lot of companies make similar products i.e. a paint on type application, a butyl based/foil back adhesive sheet and a foam sound absorber. I have scrambled my brain trying to figure out what is economical but yet balance with products that will not cause me to have to do the job again. I was pretty sure I was going to go with Edead products, but recently I have been thinking about Second Skin products although I have not really found a good deal on the net for them.
