Default C5 Depth for radio replacment

This seems to be basic info, but I am having a devil of time finding it via archieve search. Any help would be appreciated.

How deep of a car radio can I install, replacing the the Delphi radio in the stock C5.

Crutchfeild says 5 3/5", but this seem very shallow, as most alpines and such are over 6" in depth.

Thanks

Car Domain lists 7" depth. Wow, big difference from crutchfield.

Most any basic 1 DIN head unit will fit. My CDA 7998 has a barrage of RCA wires and an external DC-DC converter/filter and it fit with all that mumbo jumbo behind it.

It varies, the room behind it becomes less the closer to the top.

You mostly run in to trouble with the head units that have the rca jacks onboard. With nice headunits like the 7998, or pioneer 7800, they have a bundled cable that hangs down with the RCA plugs, and this fits much better.
