Default C6 Speaker Wire Colors

Does any one know what the factory possitive and negative speaker wire colors are for the rear, 3.5 doors and center for a non-Bose convertible without Nav? I want to upgrade my speakers this weekend and cannot seem to find anyone who lists a compatible speaker wire harness for the C6 yet.

I am new to the forum and any help would be appreciated!

I'm in the process of upgrading my speakers (1LT, no bose, no nav), and I think you will find your time is better spent running new wires. The factory HU ran to a POS delphi amp in the passenger wheel well and the wiring is beyond sane.

Hopefully this will help you avoid some pain. http://forums.corvetteforum.com/show....php?t=1630977

While speedmd's advice is good if you're installing a new amp or head unit if all you're doing is a speaker swap there's no benefit to running new wires.

If I remember correctly.. the darker wire of the pair for each speaker is always positive.

Thanks. All I want to do is swap the speakers out without a new HU or new wires. I could pick-up a Service Manual, but don't want to spend the $150.

Thanks for the info. I'll give it a try.

he is correct. usually GM does the same color for each speaker, one lighter and one darker. Contrary to all logic, the darker color is positive

Sounds like the other posts about darker wire = + are good advice.

Here's a link to a thread about replacing the door speakers. Post# 9 has the polarity of the speakers in the doors:
