Can you be more specific, please? Do you mean paying for premade vs making your own?
If so... Im not a fan of thin baffles. I like 1/2" or better thickness.
MDF has some damping properties...
I probably wouldn't get one thats a differnt material.
If you have a router, then make your own.

if you're concerned about moisture you can use those just cut out the bottom portion and it should get you your midbass back. youcould also do the same thing with the disposable tupperware containers though.

the foam ones are crap because the foam isn't riged enough to replicate a good speaker box. I built a set of baffles from 3 .75" speaker rings and a 1/4" plate. The front bass is much tighter.
