Radio an EQ installed in a C5?
Anybody have pix of a aftermarket radio and EQ installed together in the dash of their C5?
Did you buy/make the template?

What year Vette are you looking for? Most better grade aftermarket decks these days have an electronic eq built in. This is a good idea as adding an eq just adds an extra layer of distortion and if you are using a good deck, amp and speakers you shouldn't need one anyway. In the 3 years of installing high end systems into BMW, Mercs, etc., with my shop doing about 10 cars a day, we probably put in an eq once every couple of months. We did however install electronic crossovers daily.

Here are a few links with C5 deck install pictures. The firs one looks like a kit. The second one is a different kit. The third one is the rest of the pictures from the second one's installation. And the forth is a doubledin installation. I haven't opened up the dash personally so I don't know what's back there but it should be pretty easy to install a double din or single din with a kit available at almost any sterio shop. As I said above, most people don't put in EQs but they may install a tape and a cd, a video screen, a crossover unit, or just leave the second one empty. I have even seen a kit, don't ask me who make it as I don't remember, where it added a cup holder under the deck to fill the space. Most often though you'll find a pocket or blank piece of plastic filling the gap. This is also a great place to mount an alarm light as the thieves will invariably look at the sterio before opening a car and see the light. It also means you don't need to drill a location for the light in the stock plastic. Lastly, I was thinking it would make an ideal location for a center channel for 5.1 surround sound for DVD players.
