Someone help me please. I installed a Pioneer head unit today and I'm getting some feedback with the motor on and at idle. It's give off the sound of a bad ground. I'm no dummy, I've done installs a million times so I checked and rechecked all of the wiring, connections etc and can't come up with anything. Hell I even added another ground thinking that would solve the problem. Nope. Now, the head unit IS used..however it's only a few months old and I know the person I got it from so I can pretty much rule that out. I used the wiring harness from Peripheral that hooks the cd player harness to the factory one. I also got the SVEN7 but realize..well I don't have a BOSE amp, lol.
Anyway, it didn't make any noises with the factory stuff. Can anyone post up some tips? Maybe I overlooked something.
Thanks!
Also, it only seems to make the feedback noise at idle, it kinda goes away a bit when I get on the gas over 1500 rpms
do you have an aftermarket amp? if so it probably is a floating ground problem. try to ground the outside of the rca connection (the shield/ground, not the tip) to the head unit's ground

seems like a common problem with these pioneers lately
Fwiw, I tried moving the ground from the factory harness, to the chassis. The noise in the HU was actually a little worse. So mho, the harness ground is perfectly fine.

Tried it just with the harness...then added another one and nothing changed
I had the samd with the ground issue...everyone telling me I had a ground problem...went around and around with this. Go get a ground loop isolator from your local stereo store...put on on each RCA. I am convinced there is something in the Radio dash area that interferes with the aftermarket radios....mine was alos a pioneer. No noise after installing the ground loop isolators..

Would that apply to me since I'm not using the RCA's?
