On the base radio, what is the purpose of the AUX label on the CD AUX button? Can a CD changer be added? Is it for the future GM IPOD adapter? What gives?
I have a base radio also in a 1LT trim package. I have been trying to find an ipod adapter and method of installation. How do you hook up a cd changer or ipod adapter? On the passenger side in the foot well is a flap that exposes a fuse pannel and an amp. Next to the amp is a "spare" looking connector. What is this for? CD changer, ipod????? Can anyone help. Do I need to pull out the radio to make this connection or is this "spare looking" connector the path into the radio.

I'm not an iPod guy so my info is based on sketchy memories of reading threads, but I think right now the only workable solutions are for systems with XM, which I don't think the 1LT has. If you do have XM check this thread out:
Thanks for the input. I had seen that thread. I do not have XM. I am also being told that I do not need XM and that the iConnect and USA Spec will work. So I am trying to verify that as well as I just want to understand the means of connecting it. If this "spare" looking connector in my passenger foot well is a connection for future CD changer then I would not have to pull the radio from the dash. (I think) Would really like it if someone could tell me what that cable and connector is for????
According to GM, the Aux button on the 1lt radio is for future external devices. For now, they said that there are no devices that can be attached to the 1lt radio. So, according to GM, you can't hook up the chevy cd changer either.
