I am wanting to replace my door speakers in my 06 c6, I have the bose system now and went to best buy today and saw a pair of Infinity Reference 3012 cf's for my car for $30, just wondering if anyone has tried these and how they sound compared to oem.
Virtually all aftermarket speakers are an improvement over stock speakers. For the 3.5" speakers, Infinity is one of the 3 most reccomended brands (the others being Boston Acoustic and eclipse) IMO Infinity has excellent midrange.
I was thinking about ordering the Boston Acoustics from Crutchfield, but I really didn't want to wait since Best Buy has the Infinity's in stock, just wondering how the Infinity's compare to Boston's, Infinity's are half the price and I could have them in the car this afternoon.
I just finished installing the Infinity 3012 cf's in the doors of my c6, I don't know what everyone else thinks sounds good, but these sound just as bad as the crap s**t I just took out, I will be taking these back on tomorrow!! The bose crap actually sound a little better, CD's sound like the XM in my 03 GMC sierra and XM sounds as bad as FM. GM needs to step it up on this fact. system, this much mony for a car and junk for a stereo!!!!!
I guess I was expecting better results for the hour and a half I spent taking my door panels off, I guess i'll now better next time and not get a car with GM's best stereo, I wish it didn't have nav or I would throw it all in the trash and start all over, I like the head unit and all it's function just hate the bose amp that powers the speakers! I'm just venting cause I feel I just wasted an afternoon.
