Is anyone familiar with the RMR-C450 or the Phantom 4 Laser and rador scramblers from Pacific Rim technoligies, Inc. in Tampa Florida? If so, please let me know what experiences you have with the unit.
i ordered the valentine 1...it beeps A LOT in the city...haven't gone onto the highway yet to see if it'll save me or not...almost think i should have just got a jammer :o
Escort 8500 has saved my *** MANY times. If im not mistaken..radar and laser DETECTORS are legal in most states. Laser JAMMERS are illegal in all states.
I understand that there is a unit that is not a jammer......but instead it slows the beam down when it is picked up and reduces the mileage readout on the LEO's instrument.

Radar jammers are illegal because of federal regulations regarding transmitting radio waves. Laser 'jammers' are state by state... legal in most.
I've read several accounts where the laser jammers/blinders were effective.

Mythbusters did a segment on the laser scramblers and I believe they determined the scramblers not to work. I theory it sounds got but in application the units failed to do the trick.
I have an MP-40 Blinder. It is illegal in Minnesota...so is speeding, not stopping fully at a stop sign... Did my research through www.radarbusters.com. You will get nailed so you have to be a little smart and not drive insanely fast, make certain someone is in front of you giving you time to slow... Heck, read what Radar Roy has to say.

I emailed Valentine asking them why they wont make a jammer, no response. My Valentine is practically worthless now. All it tells me is when I am near a bank.

I was told that Jammers of Lasers are not illegal as they do not disrupt radio frequncies. LAser jammers are only disrupting light.
You are absolutely correct. My Valentine also saved me numerous times on Resmberg and Westview, and also on University Drive just south of Kmart on the east side. CSPD sits in the entrance way to that development with radar periodically.

The V1 has different settings. You probably have the "X" band on. Go to the V1 website to learn to "program" your detector so that it won't go off for garage doors, 7 elevens, gas stations and such that use X band.
Most LEO use k or ka band. X band is obsolete and not used in MOST states.

all the grocery stores I drive by use k band.......
They did NOT do a test on the jammers. They tested foil and spray on techniques over the license plate. My guess is, they didn't want to show that these DID work and therefore promote people to go buy something that might be illegal in their state (IMHO).
A friend of mine had one installed in a '96 Viper. It was not visible, i.e. it was installed into the car. He was pulled over MANY times but never given a ticket for speeding. He would ask to see the readout and then was denied and the LEO's would ticket him for no front plate, squealing tires, etc... But the reason he was pulled over was because it worked. LEO's don't like you messing with them in that respect. If their mission is to tag and issue tickets to speeders; this device disrupts them. Fact: It works. Reality: You'll probably get pulled over a lot more because they are suspicious of you. Make sure you haven't just pulled down a beer or something, they will look for every excuse to nail you once you've been pulled over.
My vote; do the speed limit, how can you wave at all the ladies when you're zipppin' by at 100+mph anyway???
If someone can post one single case of a legitimate test that shows that radar jammers work I would be most interested. Oh, and tests from the company that manufactures the device don't count.
