I emailed Valentine asking them why they wont make a jammer, no response. My Valentine is practically worthless now. All it tells me is when I am near a bank.
I was told that Jammers of Lasers are not illegal as they do not disrupt radio frequncies. LAser jammers are only disrupting light.
If your false alarm problem is primarily X-band, you can pretty safely shut X-band off in California. In any case, it should reduce false alarms if not eliminate them. Valentine's website tells how.
I don't think I have ever run across an x-band police radar in California in the year I've had the Valentine. An "expert" also told me there is no x-band police radar in California.
I've got an RMR-450 detector & scrambler and it works just great. No radar has got me yet. I had a Phantom (earlier model) before the RMR and it worked fine too. Go to rockymountainradar.com and you can read all about it. That's where I got mine.
Thank you very much for your feedback. I was waiting for someone who had the RMR-C450 or Phantom 4 to respond. I'll check out the website and let you know.
[QUOTE=6literbeater;1559564106]They did NOT do a test on the jammers. They tested foil and spray on techniques over the license plate. My guess is, they didn't want to show that these DID work and therefore promote people to go buy something that might be illegal in their state (IMHO).
You're right. I forgot about that. I stand corrected.
My valentine 1 has saved my A@@ numerous times. Once I came over a rise in SC on the way back to VA from FL. I picked up just a flash, and jammed on the brakes. Go down the road a way and look in the mirror and here he comes hot and heavy. I figure Fu##, I was not fast enough. Nope he nailed the guy behind me. Thats just one of the times numerous others. Now I will say, if you hear the laser warning, its over. As to jammers, don't know. I have serious doubts.

NOT so fast!! I have a Val1 also...and agree that by the time you hear the thing pick up on laser, they've already been scanning you for 10 sec or so....BUT....with my VY vert with no front license plate, I have sailed thru TWO laser traps that I know the Val1 was picking up....and neither one was able to get a read on me! The first cop was in the median of an 8 lane....and was visibly pissed off that he couldn't get the reading...to the point of stomping his foot and glaring at me as I went by! LOL.
Is anyone familiar with the RMR-C450 or the Phantom 4 Laser and rador scramblers from Pacific Rim technoligies, Inc. in Tampa Florida? If so, please let me know what experiences you have with the unit.
Nothing by RMR or Rocky Mountain Radar will jam laser or radar and their radar detection sucks.
Radar jammers are illegal because of federal regulations regarding transmitting radio waves. Laser 'jammers' are state by state... legal in most.
I've read several accounts where the laser jammers/blinders were effective.
Dont be confused as to what is illegal. Anything that interferes with the duty of a police officer is considered illegal.
it is not illegal to own active jammers (except in the states above), it is illegal to use them in the manner in which they were designed in the entire US. It's also illegal to use the radar one at all if it is more powerful than 0.01W and out side of designated bands.
Also radar jammers and "laser" jammers work on the same principle. transmitting a more powerful signal on the same freq back to the source. the difference is just wave length.
