Default Ipod2car issues

I recently installed the ipod2car interface in my C5. Unhooked my disc changer, and simpy plugged in the ipod2car, very easy installation.

Problem is, I'm now getting a whining sound through my speakers as well as a chirping sound at steady 1 second intervals. This happens both when the Ipod player is hooked up, and when its not. Thought at first my amp was going bad, but when I disconnected the ipod2car, and reconnected the factory changer, all the problems went away. The issue is clearly with the ipod2car.

Any of you guys ever run across this? Think I have a bad interface?

I tried the iPod2car in my 03 vert. It worked intermittant at best. Tried another iPod, same thing. Got ERR messages or could not change songs or the iPod would run and no sound went thru the unit. Gave it up as a bad idea...
Good luck

yes, I had the same two issues as the last 2 posts. Now I have the Auxbox. No pop, whine, nothing. I just loose the ability to change the iPod from the radio. I think this is why I see hundreds on ebay going for 25 bucks.

May have to investigate going that direction. Is your Auxbox from the same maker as the ipod2car (perephrial)?

I currently have the same two "issues" as you. I wouldn't really call them problems though. I only get them when the volume is turned up relatively loud and the iPod isn't connected.

Don't have any of those issues with mine, but sometimes lose ability to change track from radio. This also happens in my Tacoma.

I have the ipod2car as well with the weird chirping noise... It's not annoying enough to make me think it's a problem--the music drowns it out anyway

Agreed, I'm living with it. It's not that bad rolling down the road. It's just those soft, slow songs that you can still hear the other noises in the background.

I think eventually, I'll probably go with something different.

I don't have any odd noises coming from my ipod2car.

I do however have a few issues with the functionality of it. For instance, sometimes when I am playing the ipod and turn off the car, when I start the car back up, sometimes it will resume playing of the ipod, and sometimes I have to hit the play button on the ipod face again to get it to start.

Then sometimes after the first song when first starting up the car, it will stop and I have to hit the play button on the ipod again.

The last is that I have times where I have to hit the "next" button 2 or more times to get it to go to the next song. most times it works ok, but sometimes it does this.
