Hey guys, I know a lot of you have other rides besides your vette, and I am wondering if you know of anyone else that makes a custom HU mount similar to the one that vrumvrum makes for a newer model truck. Specifically an 05 silverado. I have seen some of the kits available, one I might have interest in as it has a small slot that just might squeeze in my controller for the crossover.
I know on the Avalanche forum that I've been hitting for my new '07 I've seen alot of guys with AVIC's etc in the previous generation Avs. Since they're all on the same platform I would think that the opening is practically double-din size. Crutchfield says DD heads are a "modified fit" on your '05, but they do offer them, and generally their modifications aren't on the dash but behind it. If that's the case then you might be able to just use a DD trim panel and fab something up to separate the two units.

i'm not familier with vrumvrum's work. got pics? what are you trying to fit?
Thanks for the link bro. Sent them an email to see if they would delete the name on the plate and use that space for a slightly smaller than 1/2 DIN opening. We'll see. If not I could probably mod theirs if need be.
Vrumvrum's piece can be found in the faq I think or certainly on here in the search function. I used to have a pic of it in my gallery but I think I pulled it down. It is a CNC'd piece with corvette etching in metal, it predated the LED piece.
