Light buzzing :(

So I have the stereo done, drove the car for the first time today to get gas..

There is a buzzing through the speakers.. I am thinkign it is a bad ground on the headunit itself, as new RCAs don't cure it. It also did this last year before revamping the system. My only other thought is the MSD box which I don't have the time to trouble shoot right now.. looking for other thoughts..

Power if 4GA off the Battery, ground is tied to the Seat frame and I have used it for years this way with no issue.

I never noticed the problem with my old Eclipse Headunit. Not sure if it was always there with the Nak or not..

the buzzing does not really change if at all with RPM. what to try next?

I am actually headin out on a cruise in the next hour, not sure if I am taking the vette or not. Damn it is always something

Not yet. if I ground them and fixes the problem what does that mean? Bad ground in the headunit?

that does mean bad ground on headunit... i think you should cruise down to dekalb

LMAO.. I put 175 miles in the vette today with NO Stereo..

Actually after about 25 miles the radio disply went out completely..

I have to agree on the grounding issue, more then likely with the headunit..

Will get at it tomorrow hopefully

atleast ur exhaust sounds beast and ur drivin ur car... i havent touched mine in a month, i need motor moutns which I now have but have to put in, new O2s and hopefully thats it and a new sub box as well. doin a nice C5 install next weekend pm me if you wanna stop by jeff

TAlked to PEnta on the phone about it..

I grounded the RCA's no change
disconnected the RCAs I was using, Temp wired int he Cheap PartsExpress P3 ones.. much lower but still noise.

If the RCAs are connected to just the amp and not the radio with the radio on, it is worse.

Penta and I agreed the RCAs I have are not the greatest. so i bought the top end Knukonceptz. may as well they were only $6 more then the middle level.

I might hopefully get to it next weekend as I need to pull the console apart to run them.
