here are a few pics of my amps and sub install in my 93. I had a amp overheat problem at first but fixed it with 2 radio shack 4" fans. one pushing air in and the other pulling it out, this wors great. the amps are an Eclipse EA4000 ea4000 for the mids and highs and a kicker ZX 400.1 on my 10" Kicker CVR. I custom built the box, covered it with vinyl remnant from the fabric shop, it was a pretty close match but I had some leftover corvette dye and dyed it to match perfectly. this system sounds really nice
the finished product
thanks, I decided to keep the eclipse after I put the fans it was fine, and the lack of volume I had was due to mainly using my Ipod for my source. once I put in a few CD's and tried it out I was happy with it.
Ipods suck for sound quality

sure get me the info on the cables, I have a Kenwood DPX301 head unit http://www.crutchfield.com/S-bE4fa7h...=113DPX301#Tab
I actually have the Kenwood Ipod interface for it but did not like the fact that you can not search your Ipod library with it, so I am just using the aux inputs. a lot of my Ipod tunes are downloaded and the quality is not allways the best.
Penta are any of those cables compatible with Eclipse? 8053 specifically?
Thanks

I looked for an eclipse one but only found that they were selling the ipod interface i already have. the ip-106. If you want that one, i can sell it to you for cheap. They don't have an aux one like that. I just went with their universal one with the rca outs and plugged it into my aux input. Works great. I just tapped into the ashtry cig lighter for power.

+1 on going with the right ipod adapter.
Make sure to turn off the ipod's eq.
Mine is indistinguishable from CD quality in A/B, and that's with extremely revealing speakers.
not sure I know how to do that, I know there is a setting that keeps all the songs at the same volume, is that it? I know n mine some songs are way louder than others.
