Anyone know which wire to tap into to get a hot lead when the lights are turned on? I'm installing an analog clock where the ash tray is in my C5 Vert and want it to light when I turn on the lights. The closer to this location the better. Also is there an obvious choice for the hot lead to the clock which will keep it powered all the time?
Thanks
Cig lighter in the ash tray is hot all the time I think.
I'd run the illumination wire to the fog light switch. Use a meter, one of the wires is only like 1.5 volts (I think it must be for the illumination of the switch), you proably want 12 volts which is also available. Its been a while, but I want to say its the brown wire.
You can also tap into the HVAC harness for the illumination wire. It's on the end of the harness and its tan. Also, the cig ltr like mentioned has a hot lead, its orange I believe. You can also use the ground wire for the dig ltr for your ground too
