cart first,,,, or horse first?
Am probably going to start my audio install sometime next weekend. I'm going to be laying down a Crazy Cowboy kit and as much Thermo King as I can without creating fitment problems.
My question is, should I run my audio cables (power speaker, rca)before (under) the insulation/deadening or after (between the kits and the carpet)? I was thinking that maybe the insulation would hide the cable bulges better.
One of the problems I have had with running cables under sound deadening is tracing a short or cable problem if some goes wrong. I would make sure all connections are easy to get too. Good sound deadening is hard to get off most of the time.
Run it on top, then you can use duct tape to secure it to it's mounting surface. If you're planning any other electronics it's a good idea to run those as well.

Thanks all. On top it is.
I've been waiting for this so long its killing me.
Want to do it all at once so I don't have to take the car apart over and over.
Waiting on my sub box and bezel now. Both should be here this week.
You have no idea how many times I've been out to the garage poking and prodding and measuring and planning....... DVD/NAV head, amp, speakers all around, sub, rear camera, iPod, XM, external USB, rear video screen (in the trunk, just for car shows )
very cool. Don't sweat the install. The interior is so easy to take apart. I wouldn't go more than cowboys kit as far as the bubble/foil insulation. It gets thick. I would put something else down under it such as raamat or edead in certain spots and then some ensolite or edead foam on top of the mat stuff, then the cowboy kit on top.
