Default Want MP3 everywhere now!

Now that I have my C5 done with a head unit that has aux. in, I have been playing MP3s from IPODs etc. I tried XM for a year and just could not stand the horrible sound. MP3s I can live with. Now I want to add a audio interface to my 01' Tahoe. My friend's new Yukon has a port right in the front. Anyway, I don't need a fancy interface, just audio in. I would like to add a port to one of the empty plates on the dash. If anyone has done one of these and wants to give me a PM that would be great. The dash bezel was really easy to get to and the head unit just pops out, incredibly simple. I found a harness that looks like it is for a remote CD changer and has pink, bare,gr/wh,br/wh,bl/wh,gr. I found a wiring diagram that shows gr/wh is Rt. in, br/wh is Lt. in and bl/wh is Audio rtn. Do I really need one of those expensive adapters to get audio into the head unit? Are the Delco inputs different than normal 1 Volt audio levels? My plan was to simply get a bulkhead stereo jack and wire it to those wires I found. Any insight appreciated.

Thanks for the tips. I also found z51tahoe-suburban and fullsizechevy sites. Come to find out the deck needs an E&C bus response to allow you to switch to aux so that is why you need the somewhat expensive adapter. I found other ones too not specific to the pod. I am getting real close to starting fresh like the Vette. Take the Delco and
