so i've been looking at some decent amp power kits for wiring on the net. anyone have a good experience with any notables? i'm going to be running a 0/1 from the battery to the rear and have dist. blocks with 4 out of it to the amp(s) for expandability(or at least, that's the plan). most of the kits i have looked at so far do not seem to favor our style of battery in the way it would connect to it.
also, is there a plug in the firewall already we can use? or do we need to drill a hole to put a power wire through it? my firebird had a plug from the factory i used.
From: ECS : WTF did you break now and HTF did you break it this time
for battery terminals......i have an optima yellow top with top and side posts, the side runs the oem stuff, the top runs back to the system, just made life simpler without having to squeeze stuff.
as for getting the 1/0 through the firewall I ran mine through the rubber grommet that has the wiring harness behind the battery to the fuse panel/ecu etc. was enough room to push it through, I ran a long 3/8ths extension (like 12 inches, didn't use a screwdriver because the extension is blunt and cant' hurt nothin) through the grommet found each end of it and pushed the wire through using it as a guide
Be sure you buy only pure copper wire. There is some crap cable floating around (knuconceptz) for example which is aluminum.
As a point of clarification, not all knuconceptz wire is "crap" cable. There are a couple grades...the lower grade being copper-coated aluminum wire. The better stuff is pure copper.
Like Kale said, go for the pure copper stuff. I have gotten wire from local electrical supply houses.

what did you use to connect the wires directly to the battery? was there a special post terminal or anything?
GM sidepost battery terminal adapter, autozone, cc, bb, knukonceptz, etc all sell them replaces factory bolt and gives u a little extension to bolt ur accesories onto, i use em daily

If his is for the car in the user's profile, the C6 has a conventional top-post battery. There is a stud on the top of the pos. clamp that you can use to attach a standard ring terminal.

That's what I did, though like an idiot I of course didn't take a pic of it with the cover pulled back.
I bought all my wiring stuff at darvex.com. I didn't buy a kit, just piecemealed Stinger stuff, worked out well.

Sorry, missed this fist time around... here's a pic of the hole I drilled, but you can see to the left of it the factory grommet and hole. I prefer whenever possible to leave the factory grommet intact. You certainly can glue/seal it back together if you cut it, matter of personal opinion.
