'98 w/ cd changer/radio problems
I have 12 disc cd changer located in the rear of the car. CD's got jammed and I took it to a local radio shop in Louisville. The guy had it for three weeks. He replaced a plastic part charged $58.00. It worked great for 2 weeks and jammed again. I took it back. He had it for week replaced a part, no charge. It worked for a week. However, now it does not get jammed. When I push the cd/aux button on the radio it will not do anything. I do not get the cd icon or error message. When I insert the cartridge in the cd changer it goes through it's mechanical motions. However, still nothing up front. Also, the speaker in the pass. side front is beginning to vibrate/buzz. Is this a DIY job? I am not very mechanically inclined. I usually screw up something else that leads to another job. Can I get a radio/cd changer player to replace what I have and still have the factory look? Any suggestions would be great. Thanks!
