I used the cup holder to make my own dock. It costs nothing. All you need to do is ct the cup holder bottom and glue in the adapter that came with your iPod. Then secure the plug with more glue and you'll be good to go. Took me about 3 hours to run the wires and glue the stuff.
It docks into a 3.5mm plug and/or the charging adapter. Just make sure to take the securing clip out of the adapter. I use the 3.5mm so I did not need to use that.
You can use the iPod to car or the auxbox. If you want to control it from the radio you'll need the iPod to car adapter. I am using the auxbox, I control the music from the iPod.
That looks like the standard Doc that is included with the iPod. It looks like he cut the oval hole out for it and glued it to the back side of the console. That would be pretty easy for anybody with a steady hand and a dremmel.
