Default C5 Bose replace faceplate cover screen

I have a C5 with a factory Bose head unit. I am replacing my 99 Cassette unit with a CD head. But the CD head unit has a ding in the plastic screen that covers the display area. My cassette head screen is perfect, so I would like to swap the plastic covers.
See below, area outlined in RED

Anyone know how to remove the plastic screen that covers the display area ?

Thanks in advance
Jim

hard to remember, but it should just be those plastic tabs to unlock which you already have and then the face should come off and its just attached with a ribbon cable. Can you snap a side pic of when you can remove the faceplate to that 1/4 gap? Maybe i can see what is goin on.

weird coincidence and off topic, but i just sent my softball bat to your town. DeMarini to get a replacement.

Default Figured it out

Turns out this job is not so difficult or scary.

In the center of the right side of the smoked display cover is a 1/4" or so notch in the smoked cover.
All that is needed is to slip a small flat blade under this notch and gently pry up the smoked display cover a bit at a time and work your way around the perimeter until she pops off.
Just held on by some adhesive or double faced clear tape.......hard to tell now. To replace, clean both surfaces and use a light, clear adhesive. I plan to use silicone sealant in a VERY thin line.

BTW, no need to remove the face plate
