Hi all, wondering if I could tap your expertise. I have a C6 Z06, and just had an Escort radar detector hard-wired by a local installer who I think is quite good. It may be a coincidence, but since I picked it up something odd is going on with my power windows. When the door is opened, they automatically lower a half inch, then they go back up when the door is closed. Now, they are intermittently not going back up again when they should. Not happening always. I spoke to the stereo shop, they insist the only electronics they tapped into was the power to the HU. They said my battery ran down twice, and the car was doing a lot of funny things, one headlight on, one off etc. But now, I think the battery should be fully charged. Any ideas? Thanks, Kevin
Yeah, thanks Kale. That's the issue. I'm not an electronics guru, and given that the installer said he didn't go into the doors to install the Escort, wondering whether this could be anything but a coincidence. Kevin
Not sure if you've done this but if your battery died you need to reset your windows (or the next time you wash your car your seats will get wet - out of experience). Its in the owners manual or I would tell you how to do it. Its something like getting in the car and holding the power window buttons up for 3 sec and then doing it again for 3 sec. Never heard of the headlight thing though.

Thanks again. I read the manual again and sure enough it's there. I'm sure that's what the problem was. You saved me a trip to the dealership, that's always a good thing. Kevin
