Audio question for C-5 Bose
He also installed an amp in the trunk area which I'm pretty sure can be removed easily. The unsused wires to the speakers {at the speaker end} are still there along with the ones from the amp.
What would everyone suggest as to how to get the connectors for the original unit back into the car? Can I buy just the connectors from GM or do I have to buy the entire radio cable harness?
Please don't give me a lot of flack about "downgrading" to the stcok radio, I've made up my mind what I want and it isn't a rolling boombox.
I hope someone can be of help with some suggestions.

You're right about the flack/flames coming for going back but if thats what you want to do...I think you'll find it nearly impossible to get a new harness since the cabling goes everywhere under there. You can try getting an OEM harness or I'd suggest going to a junkyard and cutting out the piece you need. With some work and a good soldering iron you could match the color coded wires back together.
If you are really set on the Bose I think that's your best option but for the trouble I think I'd look over some other Sony H/U's tos ee if you found one you could live with AND has the same back connector.
Other questions,,, are you sure the PO didn't also change the speakers? Seems like he would have with that H/U and an amp. If he did you're going to need more than a Bose H/U to get back to original. And who knows what else he cut while in there.
Good luck.
I plan on installing the Sony into my Pickup.
H*ll I'm old and Frank Sinatra isn't improved by a 1000 W/ amp
Send me the name of the previous owner so I can pop him in the head with the back of my hand!
I agree with jbondfl. Try and get a connector from another car and just crimp/solder the plugs back in.
I think the factory service manual lists the name of the company that makes the connectors... you might be able to get a replacement plug and just re-install it on the stock wiring... but you would be losing some length overall, depending on how short it was cut back.
If you need a wiring harness, get up with Gene at Genes' Kar Shop. (Supporting vendor) I have gotten parts from him, and he is always excellent to deal with.
