Default JL combo Basic SLP test and others finished.

note: 2 layers of earprotection were worn during this test.

I finally got around to making a CD of test tones nd i was curious to see just how loud i could get. (keep in mind my system is set up for SQ not SPL) but i figured what the hell.

Hardware involved:
Alpine CDA 7998 head unit
Alpine ERA G320 processor
Epicenter 150 bass harmonics processor
JL 500/1 amp
JL 12w6v2 Subwoofer
Car Audio Dave's raised sub box

Using the SPL meter in my Epic 150 processor as a judge, i cycled through all 76 tones for grins....then turned up the volume on the bottom end. the grand total was:

138dB at 50-60Hz WITHOUT distortion

not bad for a single sub/amp setup....it's also worth noting that during the entirey of the test, the voltage level in car (running) never dipped below 13.7volts.

That is a pretty solid number for a single sub setup, I ran 141db in my old integra with 2 Atomic 10's in ported boxes ... and that is still the loudest I have had bass wise of any car heh.

I bet I would be lucky to have 128-130db in my current vette setup.

145 db with two kicker 15 inch subs in the back seat of my first camaro...

138 db -- impressive for a single sub.
